Context

Jack sang in The Artesians (a champion barbershop quartet) in the late 60s-early 70s; he continued to direct a men's group until around 2000. He and his wife (Irene) were founding directors of the Olympia Chapter of the Sweet Adelines in 1965; the group won local and regional competitions. Jack retired from directing the Adelines in 2011.
