Description

View of Seattle Hotels near Pioneer Square. Warm-toned black and white photograph of a street scene at Pioneer Square in Seattle, Washington. There is a totem pole in the center of the photograph. At the left is the Pioneer building and next to it the Seattle Hotel. Behind the totem pole is the Olympic Hotel, Cooper & Levy Grocers and the Northern Pacific ticket office. On the back in pencil is written: "Seattle, Washington." It appears that print was made from a glass plate negative. Upper right corner on right edge has a mark that looks like a chip in the negative. There is a fingerprint in the emulsion at the top edge at left. Horizontal striations in the emulsion. Exposure is dark.
