Photograph of a crew hand-digging the drainage ditch from Chambers Lake to the Deschutes River, c. 1916. Original print is warm-toned and very faded into yellows. The 4 1/8" x 6 1/4" hand-cut print is mounted onto a 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" gray card. The image depicts a crew of nine men, one of which is standing on the left bank of the ditch and the remainder are in the ditch. All are holding shovels and wearing button-down shirts, pants, suspenders and wide-brimmed hats.
