Fay McDermitt, Ted McArthur and 1943 penny drive ambulance. Black and white 8 x 10 photograph is taken in front of the Lacey School building that was on Carpenter & Pacific. Pictured is the ambulance purchased by the Lacey school children as a result of their penny drive fundraiser. Three people stand in front of the ambulance. Ted McArthur, principal of Lacey School is in the center. On either side of him are military personnel, presumably accepting the gift. On the left is Fay McDermitt (a presumption based on the id on the back of the photograph) and the man on the right is unidentified. Across the top of the building it reads: "Lacey Public School District 317".
On the back of the photograph is stamped in black ink: "Mt. Rainier Military Photographers" and written in pencil: "29-4 Fay - McDermitt".Made/Created
