Fire engines in front of the Lacey Fire District #3 training tower, c. 1973-1974. This black and white photograph is a high resolution digital scan of an 8 x 10 photographic print. According to the donor, it was originally taken around 1973 or 1974 to show all of the vehicles in the fleet at the time. In the front row is a c. 1920s fire engine, in the second row are two emergency cars flanking an ambulance in the center. The third row is comprised of five fire trucks, including a 1950 Dodge at left and a ladder truck in the center. According to the donor the three trucks on the right in this row were purchased in 1972. In the back row are three fire engines to the left of the tower and three on the right. There is a wood cabin in the background at the left and it is located where the Fire District shop is now. The Water District #2 well can be seen at the far right in the background. The training tower still stands in 2015 just north of Pacific Avenue.Made/Created
