Description

Steam locomotive pulling a load of logs. Black and white negative probably created from a slide of a photo in "Olympia," a circa 1907 Olympia Chamber of Commerce promotional brochure or booklet. Image shows a steam train travelling through a forested area pulling multiple cars piled with logs. There are 3 men sitting on the front of the train and one man on the first car. There is a wooden fence on the left. Negative is frame #1, second on a strip of five. Image includes a title below, "Modern Method of Logging" and a thin line frame around it. Image is poor quality since it came from a book. The frame number "1" is printed at the top and printed at bottom right is "[KODAK SAF]ETY" and "5060" and "KO..." at left. "031" is written directly on the top of the negative. This image was flipped post scan thus the image is backwards on the negative. Booklet belonged to Shanna Stevenson (in 1990). Marge Russell's name is written in ink on the front.
