Description

Group of people posing for a photograph by a river. Black and white negative probably created from a slide of a photo in "Olympia," a circa 1907 Olympia Chamber of Commerce promotional brochure or booklet. Image shows a river bank in a forested area with six people posing for a photograph. The photographer has his back to the viewer, looking through the viewer of this camera. There are two women, a man and a dog standing on a log, plus a woman and a child sitting at right and another woman standing to the right. The river is calm. Negative is frame #2, third on a strip of five. Image includes a title below, "A Day on the River" and a thin line frame around it. There is text above and to the left of the image, although it was cropped so the text can't be fully read. Image is poor quality since it came from a book. From the viewer's point of view, the frame number "2" is printed at the left and printed at right is "[KO]DAK SAFETY FILM 5060". "032" is written directly on the left of the negative. Booklet belonged to Shanna Stevenson (in 1990). Marge Russell's name is written in ink on the front.
