Description

Team of eight horses pulling a large log. Black and white negative probably created from a slide of a photo in "Olympia," a circa 1907 Olympia Chamber of Commerce promotional brochure or booklet. Image shows a team of eight horses, two light colored and the rest dark on the shore of a body of water pulling a large tree cut into a log and stripped of bark. There are three men with hats on, one with a long tool standing beside the log. In the background, there appears to be a very large pile of logs. Negative is frame #35, fifth on a strip of five. Image includes a title below, "Logging With Horses" and a thin line frame around it. Image is poor quality since it came from a book. This appears to be the same image as 039. The frame number "35" is printed at the top and printed at the bottom is "KODAK TMX 5052. "030" is handwritten directly on the bottom of the negative. This image was flipped post scan thus the image is backwards on the negative. Original booklet belonged to Shanna Stevenson (in 1990). Marge Russell's name is written in ink on the front.
