Description

Woodland Driving Park. Black and white negative probably created from a slide of a photo in "Olympia," a circa 1907 Olympia Chamber of Commerce promotional brochure or booklet. Pictured is a cropped detail of a larger image (see 047 and 048 for larger image). In the forefront are two large pine trees with a fence and gate behind. The sign "Woodland Driving Park" can be seen in the distance as well as a covered horse stable or barn and a wooded area behind. A small light colored building can be seen near the entrance--possibly a ticket booth. A darker building can be seen in the background to the right of the horse stable. Image is poor quality since it came from a book and it is overly dark. Negative is frame #16, first on a strip of five. The frame number "16" is printed at the top (as well as "15A" to the right of that and printed at the bottom is "KODAK S[AFETY FIL]M 5060". "045" is written directly at the top of the negative. Original booklet belonged to Shanna Stevenson (in 1990). Marge Russell's name is written in ink on the front.
