Description

Woodland Driving Park. Black and white negative probably created from a slide of a photo in "Olympia," a circa 1907 Olympia Chamber of Commerce promotional brochure or booklet. Pictured is a cropped detail of a larger image (see 047 and 048 for larger image). In the forefront are two large pine trees with a fence and gate behind. The sign "Woodland Driving Park" can be seen in the distance as well as a covered horse stable or barn and a wooded area behind. A small light colored building can be seen near the entrance--possibly a ticket booth. A darker building can be seen in the background to the right of the horse stable. Image is poor quality since it came from a book and it is overly dark. Negative is frame #17, second on a strip of five. The frame number "17" is printed at the top (as well as "16A" to the right of that and printed at the bottom is "[KODAK] SAFETY FILM 5060". "046" is handwritten directly onto the top of the negative. Original booklet belonged to Shanna Stevenson (in 1990). Marge Russell's name is written in ink on the front.
