Description

Woodland Driving Park. Black and white negative probably created from a slide of a photo in "Olympia," a circa 1907 Olympia Chamber of Commerce promotional brochure or booklet. Pictured is the Woodland Driving Park (left) and the Lacey Hotel (right). In the forefront are four large pine trees with a fence and gate behind. The sign "Woodland Driving Park" can be seen over the gate. In the distance is as a covered horse stable or barn and a wooded area behind. A small light colored building can be seen near the entrance--possibly a ticket booth. A darker building can be seen in the background to the right of the horse stable. In front of the hotel is a tall flag pole with a flag hung from the top. Image is poor quality since it came from a book and it is overly dark. Image is surrounded by a thin black line. Underneath is the title "Woodland Driving Park". Negative is frame #18, third on a strip of five. The frame number "18" is printed at the top (as well as "17A" to the right of that and printed at the bottom is "KODAK SAFETY FILM 5060". "047" is handwritten directly onto the top of the negative. Original booklet belonged to Shanna Stevenson (in 1990). Marge Russell's name is written in ink on the front.
