N059-1Description
Aerial View of Saint Martin's campus, c. 1910. Black and white negative created from a print. Pictured is a wood cabin, at left that later housed the original KGY station at Saint Martin's College campus. According to the original catalog card, this image was taken from the water tower, looking north at the approximate location where the abbey church was located in the 1990s. A tall wooden tower is the central building in this image. On the ground below are two smaller buildings and some rooflines are visible in the lower left corner of the image. There is a fence around the perimeter, telephone poles and electric lines through the center. There are large white objects stacked on the ground. The small building at left appears to be the same size and shape as the radio station building. There is a forested area beyond.
Negative is frame #15, first on a strip of three. With the image oriented for the viewer, the frame number "15" is printed at the left and at the right "15A" and printed above is "KO[DAK SAFET]Y FILM 5062". "059" is handwritten directly onto the bottom edge of the negative.Made/Created
