Father Sebastian Ruth's QSL CardEntry/Object ID
N064-1Description
Father Sebastian's ham radio operator QSL card. Black and white negative of a 3 x 5 postcard. Image features a paper on a table with two images on it. One is of Father Sebastian Ruth in the broadcasting booth, and the other cropped image is of the full broadcasting booth and equipment. A St. Martin's pennant and framed picture is on the wall. There is a blank part of the card at the lower right portion.
Negative is frame #30, third on a strip of five. With the image oriented for the viewer, the frame number "30" is printed at the bottom and at left "29A" and printed at the top is "K[ODAK SAF]ETY FILM 5062". "064" is handwritten directly onto the bottom edge of the negative.
In the early days of broadcasting, QSL Cards were a written confirmation of reception of a two-way communication by a third-party. They were the size of postcards because they were regularly sent through the mail as such. This postcard, if it is indeed a QSL card, does not have the call letters or contact information which normally appears on these cards. Either the information is on the other side or this is an incomplete version.Made/Created
