Description

Pacific Avenue Street Scene, possibly 1970s, in Lacey. Black and white negative taken from a print features a busy Lacey street scene. The street curves to the left and has four lanes plus a center turn lane. Intersection in background is Sleater-Kinney Rd. Street lamps and trees line the street. A bulletin board at left reads: "News, It's our middle name! KIRO Newsradio 71". Busines signs include "Capital Supply" "Plaza Cleaners" "Shell" "Pacific Cycle and Sports Shop" "Dairy Queen" "Tri-City Meat Co" "7 Eleven" "Chevron" "Mi[das]" and "Glenco's RV Sales." Gasoline at the Chevron is advertised as 72.9 cents per gallon. A sign attached to a light pole reads "Panorama City" and is pointing right. Below that is a sign for Interstate 5 pointing left. In the foreground, a Rotary sign is posted on a lamp post. The image has a line through the center. Negative is frame #17A, third on a strip of six. With the image oriented for the viewer, the frame number "17A" is printed at the top, and "18" at top left. "074" is handwritten directly onto the bottom edge of the negative. Also printed on another part of the strip is: and "Kodak Panatomic X Film" and "Kodak Safety Film".
