Description

Family portrait of the Michael DeLacey family, c. 1918. In the back row is Mary (Mollie) and Katherine. In the center row is John, Michael (Dad), and Joseph. In the front row is Rose and Robert. The boys are all wearing dark suit coats, ties and light shirts. Rose is wearing a girl's dress, hair long and down with a large bow in the back. The older girls in the back row have their hair up and stylish dresses of sheer material with embroidered decoration. There is a curtain as background. Negative is frame number 15A, first on a strip of six. The frame number "15A" is printed at the top, and "16" at left. "076" is handwritten directly onto the bottom edge of the negative. Printed at the bottom is "Kodak S[afety Film]". On another part of the strip is printed: "Kodak Panatomic X Film." At one time it was believed that this family was related to the Lacey family for whom the town may have been named. That connection was later discredited.
