Description

Julia Smith Shaw Taylor in 1918 with Violet and Virginia Drake, her granddaughters, at the Hawks Prairie farm of Henry and Rose Smith, which was part of the Hawk's Donation Land Claim. Julia is kneeling between the two children, who appear to be about 18 months old. She is in a long-sleeved high-collared white blouse and dark skirt. They are outside in a field, there is a tree at right and a building behind them. The original photograph edges can be seen with the wooden base of the copy stand behind, and the clips holding the photo in place. Negative is frame number 12A, third on a strip of six. The frame number "12A" is printed at the right, and "12" at the bottom. "079" is handwritten directly onto the left edge of the negative. On another part of the strip is printed: "Kodak Safety Film" and "Kodak Panatomic X Film". Negative is made from an original 2 x 3 print.
