Fire Recognition Day with South Bay District 8 Fire Department. Black and white negative strip of 14 images originally created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. According to the sleeve these photos are of fire recognition day. In frame 28 there are two men standing over a third who is laying on the ground. One of the men is wearing a fire fighter suit. In frame 29 there is a fire fighter assisting a man on a stretcher that has a neck brace on. In frame 30 there are four men, two of them are fire fighters, assisting a fifth man who is on a stretcher with a neck brace on. Frames 31, 32 33, and 34 are very difficult to see and you are unable to identify what is occurring in the photo. Frame 35 contains the image of a man laying on the ground and another man approaching him. Frame 16 is an image of a fireman with a hose that appears to be running. Frame 17 shows two fire fighters approaching a vehicle with a person inside and a photographer taking a picture of the scene. Frame 18 shows a fire fighter looking inside a vehicle and another fire fighter looking inside a box next to the car. Frame 19 shows two fire fighters pulling a person from a car onto a stretcher. Frame 20 shows a man standing outside a fire truck which reads "South Bay Dist. 8 Fire Dept" and in the background you can see they are in the parking lot of a fabric store and there is a small group of people crossing the parking lot. The photos appear to be taken at the South Sound Center in Lacey.
