Description

David Chamberlain, 7 years old, rides his new bicycle on Christmas morning, 1962. Color scanned image taken from a slide. The photograph, taken by Robert Chamberlain, was taken from the front yard of 1720 Cedar Street (now Gemini) facing north. David is the central focus of the photograph and the background is blurry. The bicycle is red with white trim and white wheels. He is wearing a brown coat with a hood that obscures most of his face. Several houses can be seen on either side of the street with trees in the front yards and the background. Cedar Street extends into the horizon where Saint Martin's Old Main is just visible. This view is what gave this development its name "College View Estates." As of 2016, the tree growth obscures this view. David Chamberlain's father, Robert Chamberlain, took this photo.
