Government Officials and Construction, 1973. Black and white negative strips of 10 images (two strips of five frames) originially taken for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These photographs show a construction site. Ken Balsley said that the men pictured are three city officials. Frame 28 shows Jim Land, the Lacey Police Chief. Jim Land is seen wearing a suit with a light colored shirt and a dark tie. Frames 29-31 show Norm Krueger, the City Engineer. Norm Krueger is seen wearing a suit with a light colored shirt and a dark tie. He is also wearing dark, thick framed glasses. Frames 32 and 33 are of a construction site. A bulldozer is visible and there is a large pile of dirt next to it. Two men can be seen in the photograph standing next to digging equipment. Frame 34 shows a close up of the bulldozer and the digging equipment with the two men apparently giving directions to whomever is driving the machinery. Frame 35 shows a large pile of dirt with the digging equipment at the end of it. Frames 36 and 37 show Wes Barclift. He is wearing a dark suit, a light colored shirt, and a dark tie. He has light colored hair and has a mustache.
