Lacey American Legion Hall Demolition, 1973. Black and white negative strip of 14 images (two strips of five frames and one strip of four frames) originally created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. In the photos we see the partially-demolished Lacey American Legion Hall.
Frame 5 appears to be of a counter inside the building. On the counter appear to be files and a box. Frame 6 shows the outside construction of the building. The back frame of the building is visible and the area in front of the frame has debris on the floor. Frame 7 is of this same scene but taken from the side so a large amount of debris on the floor of the building and ground surrounding it is visible. Frame 8 shows debris around a staircase. A popcorn machine is visible next to the stairs. The stairs have a rail on the right side of them. On the strip containing frames 9-13: Frame 9 shows the popcorn machine with large amounts of debris on the floor behind it. Frame 10 shows the staircase from a different angle. There is debris on either side of it and the popcorn machine is seen on the right of it. The stairs appear to lead to the top of a building. Frame 11 shows the outside of a building. Debris is on the ground in front of it and a ladder is leaning up against the side of the building, leading to the roof. Several windows are visible on the side and they all have broken panes. Frame 12 shows a small building with debris in front of it and on top of it. The building is to the left of the staircase and the popcorn machine is seen to the right. Frame 13 shows the same side of the building as frame 11. A ladder is leaning against the side, leading to the roof. Debris is scattered on the ground in front of the building. On the strip containing frames 14-18: Frame 14 shows the side of a building that is attached to a floor. The other sides of the building appear to be the debris that is on the floor of the building. Frame 15 shows the staircase with a window behind it that has a ladder leading in to it. Frame 16 shows a hallway with open frames through the doorways. The walls of the building are no longer in tact. Frame 17 shows another view of the staircase with a large amount of wooden debris on the ground around it. Frame 18 shows the side of the building from frames 11 and 13. Several portions of the windows are missing. There is a ladder leading on to the roof of the building. Debris is laying on the ground around the ladder.Made/Created
