Policeman in Action, 1977. Black and white strips of 7 frames (one strip of three frames and one strip of four frames) originally created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These photographs show policemen making an arrest, a traffic stop, and putting someone in the back of a police car. In the first strip containing frames 22-25: Frame 22 shows a man laying on the ground. The man is wearing pants, a jacket, and has a plaid shirt visible that hangs below the jacket. He is also wearing a baseball cap. A police officer is standing over him with his left hand on the man's back. The officer is wearing a uniform and has a jacket on. In his right hand appears to be a gun. Behind these two men is a third man standing in a parking lot. He is wearing a striped shirt, jeans, sneakers, and has a baseball cap on. He appears to be reading something he is holding in his hands. Behind these men is a parking lot with a Volkswagen beetle in it. There are trees visible beyond the parking lot. In frame 23 we see a police officer what appears to be searching a man that is leaned over a car. The police officer is reaching down to the man's ankle. The police officer is wearing a uniform, and the other man is wearing pants, a belt and shirt. Frames 24 and 25 show the same scene as frame 23 but from further away. In these frames we see the entire car, and also see a second police officer standing toward the front of the car. He is also in his uniform. The man that was being searched and the police officer searching him are now both standing upright. The one being searched is handcuffed with his hands behind his back. The police officer standing toward the front of the vehicle appears to be writing something down. In frame 25 the driver door to the vehicle is open. In the strip containing frames 25-27: These images show a man being placed into the back of a police car in front of the St. Martins college book store. In all three frames a man in a striped shirt, possibly the same one from frame 22 on the previous strip, is standing toward the front of the cop car writing something down on something he is holding. There is a police car with the driver door open. A police officer is opening the back door behind the driver door and has a man in handcuffs that is assisting into the back of his car. The man to the left is wearing a striped polo shirt, blue jeans, and dark shoes. The police officer is in uniform and the man that is being placed in the car is wearing dark pants, a dark jacket and dark shoes. Behind them is a white building that has a sign that reads "St Martins College Bookstore."Made/Created
