Description

Russell House on Chambers Lake, c. 1915. Black and white copy print probably made from a negative. View is probably facing southwest and the two-story house is situated on a small hill. There is a wraparound porch with slender columns and vertical detailing on the eaves and porch. There is a chimneys and a small gable over the porch entrance with wooden steps leading down. There is a small tree in the front and the side yards. One tree is bare and the other has some leaves on it. There is another entrance visible at the back with a second porch and staircase. A small path leads to the gate which is part of the fence across the front of the property. Three people stand in front of the house and they are identified as Hannora Russell, Thomas N. Russell and Harry Russell. There is a small black dog on top of the fence. Written on the back in pen: "1996-001 neg #1802 Russell House 89-003" This house is located at the current address of 3601 18th Avenue SE in Olympia. It is situated very near the Lacey border just to the northwest of Chambers Lake.
