Description

Lacey Bank Ribbon Cutting, 1979. Black and white film negative strips of 21 frames (one strip of six frames, and three strips of five frames) originally created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These photos show the Lacey Bank Ribbon Cutting ceremony on June 1, 1979. The strip containing frames 1-3 and 43-44: Frame 43 and 44 show at least eleven people standing near a platform outside of a building. At the center of both photos is a man in a plaid jacket. On the left-hand side of the image is a tall man with a beard and glasses wearing a blazer with a small plaid pattern. This man is Ron Rowe. Frame 1 shows a large group being arranged on a platform to have their photo taken. A man in light pants and a white polo shirt is standing in front of the group and appears to be arranging them. Everyone in the photograph is wearing a suit, shirt and tie. Frames 2 and 3 are of the posed group in front of the building. 15 people are visible in the images. The people shown in images 2 and 3 are, from left to right, front row: Karen Fraser and Doug Prull; middle row: Bob Williams, Paul DeTray, four unknown men, and Ed Bettine; back row: Kenneth Wilcox, an unknown man, Ken Parsons, two unknown men, and Ron Rowe. Frames 4-7 are of this same group taken at closer angles. Frames 8-11 show two men being lead into the door by a woman, who is holding the door open. There is a third man standing to the right of the door. The man to the left of the photograph has dark hair, and is wearing dark pants, a light jacket, a shirt and tie. The man next to him is wearing a light suit and a light shirt. Next to him is a woman who is also wearing a light suit. She is holding the door open with her back and gesturing with her hands for the men to enter. Next to the door, on the other side, is a man wearing a suit, a light shirt, and dark framed glasses. He has dark hair and is smiling. Ken Balsley identified the man against the door as John Gott, Chairman of the board. Frame 12 shows a man in a suit standing next to the same woman from earlier. Frame 13 shows a group of 7 people standing in what appears to be a parking lot. There are 5 men wearing suits, and two women. One woman is standing in the middle of the picture with a striped shirt on, and shoulder length hair. The people closest to the camera have their arms crossed across their chest. Frame 14 shows two men standing to the left of the image wearing suits and their hands are in their pockets. In the middle of the photograph, a woman in a suit is shaking hands with a man to the right of the photograph. There are two men standing to either side of the man shaking hands. Frames 15 and 16 show a group of 9 people posing on a platform for their photo. In the middle of the photo is a man (Doug Prull) wearing a light colored jacket, a tie, and dark pants. There are four women to his right and four women to his left. The woman to the right of Mr. Prull is Linda Matthews, and the woman to the right of Ms. Matthews is Nancy McCarty. Frame 17 shows a man in light pants and a white polo taking pictures with a large camera. Behind him are four people standing around talking. Frame 18 shows two men, one in a dark suit jacket and one in a light jacket talking to each other. The man on the right is Ed Bagley.
