Description

Policeman Directing Traffic, Unknown Date. Black and white negative strip of six images originally created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. All frames in this strip shows a police officer directing traffic. Frame 44 shows the officer standing in the road with his right arm raised and his hand directing traffic. He is looking to his right and his body is facing the camera. He is wearing a long rain coat with a dark shirt and dark pants under it. He is also wearing dark shoes, glasses and a policeman's hat. The left side of the raincoat has a police badge logo on the chest. Behind him is a building, a volkswagen bug and a truck. Frame 1 shows the policeman's left arm reaching into an electrical box, possibly one that controls traffic lights. Next to the unit is a telephone pole. Behind the pole the hood of a car is visible. Frames 2 and 3 show the policeman in the road directing traffic again, both show vehicles behind him, a building, and he is pointing with his right hand. Frame 4 shows him in the same position but now both his arms are by his sides. Frame 5 shows the same view of him with his hands by his sides but this image was taking horizontally, the rest are vertical.
