Description

Iron Greenhouse and Roolan Garden, Unknown Date. Black and white negative strips of 20 images (two strips of six frames, and two strips of four frames) originally created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. Frames 21 and 22 show a group of six people that appear to be planting and working on the ground in front of them. It appears that all except one of the people is wearing a dark jacket. The one person without a dark jacket on has a light polo shirt. The person to the left of the photograph is holding a gardening tool and leaning down towards the center of the photo. Behind him are two men standing with their hands in their pockets. In front of them, and in the center of the photograph, is a person kneeling down looking at the ground that is being worked on. The person to the right of the photgraph also has a gardening tool and is leaning to the center of the photograph. There is someone standing behind the person leaning over, but only their legs are visible. Frame 23 shows the ground, possibly prior to their work on it. Frame 24 shows a strip of land that has been worked on, and 5 people are surrounding it. Three people are leaning over with gardening tools working on the ground. There are two people standing near them with their hands in their pocket. Both men are waring dark pants, a light shirt, and glasses. Frame 25 shows the same people but now instead of leaning toward the ground the people are kneeling down and touching the ground. Frame 26 shows two people leaning over with gardening tools. Their backs are to the camera and their jackets read "Washington North Thurston" with a logo on it. There are two men in the distance standing with their hands in their pockets. Frames 27 and 28 show two men with gardening tools working on the ground, and two men standing close to them watching them. Frame 29 is of a person in dark pants and jacket and light shirt standing with a gardening tool. Frame 30 shows this same person, but now they have bent over and appear to be picking something up off the ground. Frames 33-39 show a man with short dark hair, glasses, and a light shirt holding a potted plant that is in a fixture. Throughout the pictures he is setting the plant on a shelf. Frames 40-42 are of about three buildings. There are two vehicles parked in front of the buildings. Behind the buildings are a few bill boards and several trees are visible.
