Description

Russell House on Chambers Lake, c. 1910. Brown-toned 8" x 10" photographic print is a copy of 1996-001-0001. The image is 6 1/2" x 9 1/2" leaving a white space around the image, the widest at the top at about 1 1/4". It appears to be an older copy print, judging by the paper type and yellowing. View is probably facing east and the two-story house is situated on a small hill. There is a wraparound porch with slender columns and vertical detailing on the eave and porch. There are two chimneys and a small gable extends forward at right supported by two columns. There are two small trees or bushes in front yard. At left a small water tower is barely visible in the background. The edges of the image soften as on the original print. Written on the back in pen: "1996-001 neg #669" and printed numerous times on the back is "This Paper Manufactured by Kodak." This house is located at the current address of 3601 18th Avenue SE in Olympia. It is situated very near the Lacey border just to the northwest of Chambers Lake.
