Description

Lacey Leader staff, unknown date. This black and white negative film strip bearing four images (images 25-28) was created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a total of three different people in the office of the Lacey Leader newspaper. Image 25 shows one woman with long hair and glasses facing the camera in the middleground at center and a man in a plaid shirt in the foreground to the left. Ken Balsley believed this woman to have been a typesetter for the Lacey Leader, but he could not recall her name. Image 26 shows a bearded man (Dorian Smith) with glasses facing the camera and tilting his head. Image 27 shows the same bearded man with glasses facing the camera from a slightly more removed angle. Image 28 shows a man in a plaid shirt looking downward and reaching up to touch his side with his right hand. Dorian Smith was a reporter for the Lacey Leader. This location of the Lacey Leader offices was located in the building which, as of October 2016, houses South Bay Press. This building is on the south side of 8th Avenue west of Sleater Kinney Road in Lacey, Washington. This was the first of two locations for the Lacey Leader offices, and by far the longer-lived of the two locations. Printed on one edge of the negative strip is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM" in alternati
