Lacey first snow, 1980. These two black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. Both strips bear four images each (images 36-39 and 40-43). These images show various snow scenes and one Christmas-themed window display. Image 36 shows a light pole and adjacent mailbox with snow piled areound them. Image 37 shows a young woman (Jennifer Brown) walking a dog and pulling a small child (Christopher Brown) in a sled on a snowy residential street. The child is partially obscured behind the woman. Image 38 shows a very similar scene to image 37, but in image 38 only a small portion of the child's head is obscured by the woman's left hand. Image 39 is very similar to both image 37 and 38, but in image 39 the child is completely unobscured. Image 40 is very similar to the three previous images, but the photographer has either zoomed out or backed away from the subjects. Image 41 shows a very similar scene to the previous four images, but the image is focused on the child and both the woman and dog are partially outside the image frame. Image 42 is focused exclusively on the child and neither the woman nor the dog are visible in the frame. Image 43 shows a display window for a commercial property. Visible in the display are a number of stuffed toys including four Raggedy Ann and Andy-type dolls, a dog with a letter "M" on its chest, a cat or chipmunk in overalls, and others. Also visible are two wreaths and a small sign at upper left which reads "YOU are NOT LOST this is too The CORVAIR PLACE," "Parts & repairs" and "491~1288." Below this sign is another sign stating that the business is closed.Made/Created
