Description

Lake Fair, 1980. This single black and white film negative strip bearing four images (images 24-27) was created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show two different groups of people posing for photographs. Image 24 shows six women and one man (Fred Delore) posing for a photograph. The man is at center, and three women are to each of his sides. All of the women are wearing matching courduroy or pinstriped jackets, and at least the three women to the right of the photo are wearing badges or patches with a capital rotunda logo at top, and which read "Capitol," "Lakefair," and "Olympia." The man standing at center is wearing glasses, a blazer, and a striped tie. His jacket has the same badge or patch as the women to his left, and he is also wearing a "Rotary International" badge or patch. Image 25 is very similar to image 24, but in image 25 the man and the woman to his right are grasping hands. Image 26 shows three women (Lakefair Queen candidates) and one man posing for a photograph. Two of the women are standing to the man's left and one woman is standing to his right. The women are dressed in business casual clothing, and the man is wearing a blazer and tie very similar to that of the man in images 24 and 25. He is also wearing the same rotunda-logoed badge or patch as the people in images 24 and 25. However, his badge or patch has an additional section at bottom that appears to say "Capitalarian." The man's head is turned slightly to his right. Image 27 is very similar to image 26, but the man is facing directly toward the camera. Fred Delore owned a car dealership on Martin Way.
