Unidentified people, 1975. These seven black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. One of the strips bears six images (images 18-23), five of the strips bear five images (images 24-28, 29-33, 34-38, 2-6, and 7-11), and one strip bears two images (images 44 and 1). These images show a young girl lighting a candle, two young children seated in front of a Christmas tree with toys, two children posing with a pony and a sign which reads "Country Christmas Bazaar," and two children putting letters into a mailbox labeled "Santa's Mail." Image 18 shows a female child in a dress lighting a tall, decorative candle with a long match. Image 19 is almost identical to image 18, but more of the decorative base of the candle is visible. Image 20 is very similar to images 18 and 19, but the photographer has either zoomed in slightly or stepped closer to the girl. Image 21 again shows a very similar scene to that of the previous three images, but the girl is smiling. Image 22 shows the same girl lighting the candle, but she is facing more toward the camera and smiling. Image 23 shows the same girl lighting the candle, but she has turned back to look at the flame/candle. Image 24 shows a scene almost identical to that of image 23. Image 25 shows a small boy and a small girl seated in front of a Christmas tree. A large clown doll is between them. Both children are smiling. Image 26 through 28 are virtually identical to image 25. Image 29 shows the little boy looking toward the little girl, and the clown doll is now in the girl's lap. Image 30 shows an image very similar to that of image 29, but the little girl's head is cocked slightly to the right. Image 31 shows the boy again looking back toward the camera, and the little girl's arm is wrapped around the clown doll's chest. Image 32 shows two young girls, one holding the reins of a pony and the other holding a sign which reads "Country Christmas Bazaar." The pony is looking toward the camera, and the girl on the left is facing downward slightly. Image 33 shows a very similar scene, but here the pony is facing toward the left. Image 34 shows a very similar scene again, but the pony is facing toward the camera again. Image 35 shows a similar scene again, but here the girl on the left has a wider stance than in the other images. Image 36 shows a very similar scene again, but here the girl on the left has faced her body slightly more to her right. Image 37 again shows a scene very similar to those before, but the girl on the left has stepped forward slightly. Image 38 shows a very similar scene again, but the girl on the left is again facing downward slightly on the girl on the right's head is cocked slightly to her right. Image 44 shows a very small child placing a letter in a mailbox labeled "Santa's Mail." The box also reads "Beta Theta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi." The child's face is partially obscured, and there is a second, older small child watching from the left-hand side of the frame. Image 1 shows the small child preparing to put a second, smaller letter in the mailbox. The other child is mostly outside of the frame in this image. Image 2 shows the older of the two children kneeling and reaching over to put a letter into the mailbox as the smaller child watches. Image 3 shows the older child sitting in front of the mailbox and placing a letter into it. The smaller child is also holding a different letter. Image 4 shows an almost identical scene to that of image 3. Image 5 shows the two children seated in the same position, but the younger child appears to be trying to give a large envelope to the older child. Image 6 shows the younger child putting a letter in the mailbox while the older child looks off to the right of the frame. Image 7 shows the older child placing a large envelope into the mailbox while the younger child ducks down and holds an envelope up in the air. Image 8 shows the older child using both hands to feed a letter into tthe mailbox while the younger child watches. Image 9 shows the older child holding a letter in each hand while putting one into the mailbox. Image 10 shows the older child again using both hands to put a letter into the mailbox while the younger child watches. Image 11 shows the older child holding a letter in each hand and placing one into the mailbox while the younger child crawls away toward the left of the frame.Made/Created
