Description

Dixy's Ball, 1977. These five black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. Due to the fact that the images from this sleeve came from several different film strips, several of the physical numbers are duplicated for different images. As a result, for the purposes of this description, any numbers that are duplicated will be assigned an "a" and a "b" (ex: 17a and 17b). Dixy Lee Ray (born 1914, died 1994) was the governor of Washington State from 1977 - 1981. She was a nationally prominent scientist before becoming Washington State's first female governor.
