Description

Indochinese refugees, unknown date. This black and white film negative strip holding five images (images 25-29) was created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. All of the images show a group of adults engaged in singing and/or dancing on a stage. Following the Vietnam War, Washington State took in a large number of refugees who had been displaced by the war or were targets of political persecution in their home countries. Ken Balsley stated that the group shown in these images was likely performing or practicing for a fundraiser to help assist themselves and future refugees.
