Description

Beta Sigma Phi, 1979. These four film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. One strip holds five images (images 4-8), two strips hold four images each (images 41-44 and 1-4), and one strip holds two images (images 39-40). These images show a man playing the bagpipes and two women looking through scrapbooks. Image 4 shows a man with a beard playing bagpipes. He is facing the camera directly, and is standing in front of a brick building. Behind the man and to his left is a door with "Cooperative Services Project" printed on the glass. Image 5 shows the man playing the bagpipes from behind and to his left. Visible in front of the man is an automobile which reads "Bonneville" behind its back tire. Also visible in the background is a sign on the brick building which reads "The Lacey Leader." Image 6 shows the man playing bagpipes' left side. The front-right side of the Bonneville is visible in the background. Image 7 shows the man playing bagpipes from the front and to his right. His entire body is visible, and the back end of the Bonneville is visible on the right of the frame. Image 8 shows the man playing bagpipes from the mid-thigh up. A portion of the back-right window of the Bonneville is visible in the background. Image 39 shows two women, one with glasses and one without, seated at a table and looking through a scrapbook. Visible in the scrapbook is a pamphlet or similar item which reads "Abie's Irish Rose." The photo is taken from the woman in glasses' right. Image 40 is very similar to image 39, but the image was captured from the woman without glasses' left. Image 41 shows the two women looking at a scrapbook with an item which reads "The Journal" on the left-hand page. Image 42 shows the woman without glasses speaking to the woman with glasses. Image 43 is very similar to image 43, but the woman with glasses is smiling. Image 44 is similar to the previous two images, but both women are looking down at the scrapbook. Image 1 is similar to image 44, but the image was captured from the woman without glasses' left, while image 44 was captured from the woman with glasses' right. Image 2 is similar to image 1, but the two women are turning the page of the scrapbook. Image 3 shows the women looking at a heart-shaped decoration on the right-hand page of the scrapbook. Image 4 shows the women looking at a bell-shaped decoration on the right-hand page of the scrapbook. Printed in alternation along one edge of the strip bearing images 4-8 is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM." Printed at intervals along one edge of the strips bearing images 39-40, 41-44, and 1-4 is "KODAK SAFETY FILM 5063."
