TESC Super Saturday, unknown date. These two film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. One strip bears four images (images 35-38) and one strip bears three images (images 32-34). These images show an event on the Evergreen State College campus.
The Evergreen State College's (TESC) Super Saturday was a community festival which began on the TESC campus in the latter half of the 1970s. It was held the weekend of graduation, and featured music, arts, crafts and food. Ken Balsley estimated that 10,000-15,000 people attended on average, and as many as 20,000 attended in the latter years of the festival. Ken Balsley was one of the founders of the event, and also ran the festival in one of its first years of operation. The event was discontinued in 2009 by TESC due to budget shortfalls and the huge amount of time an effort required to put the event on every year.Made/Created
