Wrestling, 1977. These five film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. Three strips bear five images each (images 17-21, 28-32 and 33-37), and two strips bear two images each (images 22-23 and 26-27). These images show several Greco-Roman style wrestling matches. Image 17 shows two young men engaged in a wrrestling match at the center of the frame, and a referee in a wide stance at the left of the frame. One of the two wrestlers is looking toward the referee. Image 18 shows one wrestler attempting to pin the other. The referee is also on the ground and looking underneath one of the wrestlers. Image 19 appears to show several people sitting in some athletic stands, and two people standing at thr right of the frame. The image is very blurry. Image 20 shows two wrestlers engaged in a match. Both are on all fours and facing eachother. One of the two wrestlers' heads in underneath the chest of the other wrestler, and is pressed to the floor. Image 21 shows the two wrestlers again on all fours, but now both wrestlers' heads are pressed to the floor or nearly so. The referee is visible in the background toward the right of the frame. Image 22 shows one wrestler sitting cross-legged with his hands on the ground, and the other wrestler is crouching behind and grasping the upper arms of the first wrestler. Images 23 shows one wrestler face down on the ground and the second wrestler with his arms around the chest of the first. The head of the second wrestler is blurred, suggesting that he threw the first wrestler to the ground. Image 26 shows two wrestlers completing a fall to the ground. Approximately 25 audience members are visible in the background. Imagae 27 shows two wrestlers on the ground, with one being held around the neck and on leg by the other wrestler. Image 28 shows two wrestlers on the ground. One is face down on the ground and the other is on top of him. Image 29 shows one wrestler on all fours with his lower body all the way down on the ground. The other wrestler is on top of the first, and reaching underneath the arms o fthe first. Both wrestlers are facing toward the left of the frame. Image 30 shows one wrestler lying on his left side while the second has his arms around the waist of the first. Image 31 shows one wrestler attempting to pin the other. The referee is on all fours at the right side of the frame looking very closely at the wrestlers. Image 32 shows one wrestler trying to pin the other. The referee appears to be face down on the ground. Image 33 shows both wrestlers on the ground. The image was captured from close to the ground, and the wrestlers mostly occupy the top-left quadrant of the image frame. Image 34 shows the two wrestlers on the ground. One wrestler's head is on the ground, and he is nearly facing toward the camera. Image 35 shows one wrestler on his back and the other wrestler's head on the stomach of the first. Image 36 shows a similar scene to that of image 35, but the wrestler on his back has his mouth open very wide. Image 37 shows one wrestler down on his stomach with his right cheek on the floor. The other wrestler is laying on the back of the first.
