Description

No Annexation for Lacey signs, unknown date. This black and white contact print strip bearing six images (images 43-44 and 1-4) was created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. The images show two different signs against the annexation of Lacey. Image 43 shows a large plywood sign hanging on a chainlink fence which reads "NO ANNEXATION LACEY KEEP OUT." A mobile home is visible at the right of the frame behind the fence. Image 44 shows the same image, but a lighter version of it. Image 1 again shows the same image, but it is darker than image 43. Image 2 shows a sign mounted on two wooden legs which reads "FREEDOM LIVES ANNEX TO LACEY NO HELL NO." Trees and brush are visible in the background. Image 3 is nearly identical to image 2, but it is lighter. Image 4 is nearly identical to the previous two images, but it is darker than image 2.
