Check from US Treasury to City of Lacey, 1972. This single black and white film negative strip bearing five images (images 16-20) was created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. Image 16 shows a hand holding a check from the US Treasury to the City of Lacey for $50,131. The date on the check is 12-11-72, and it is made out to Mayor Van Andel. The person holding the check is sitting at a desk. Image 17 shows a similar scene, but the image is zoomed out and the back of the man holding the check's head is showing. Image 18 shows a man in glasses (Mayor Albert Van Andel) sitting at a desk and holding the check up with his left hand. He is facing the camera. Image 19 shows a similar scene to that of image 18, but the man is holding the check with both hands. Image 20 shows a scene very similar to image 19, but the camera has zoomed out slightly.
Albert Van Andel was a mayor of Lacey and a retired minister. He lived at Panorama City during his time as mayor. Ken Balsley stated that he may have acted as the minister for Panorama City.
