Description

Area businesses, unknown dates. These eleven black and white film negatives were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. It appears that all of the strips in this sleeve are from separate film rolls, so several of the physical numbers on the film strips are repeated. For the purposes of this description, each strip will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with its physical number (ex: 17a, 17b, 17c, etc.) in the hopes of avoiding confusion. The images on strip "a" show a sign for Olympia Mechanical Corporation and a presentation drawing of a commercial or governmental building. Image 3a shows a sign which reads "OLYMPIA MECHANICAL CORPORATION, 491-1444." The sign is up on two wooden stilts and there is a fence and a tree in the background. Image 4a is virtually identical to image 3a. Image 5a shows a presentation drawing of a commercial or governmental building, part of the building's parking lot, and a tree in the parking lot. To the woman's left is a shelf with boardgames on it. Image 7b shows the woman looking toward the camera and smiling. The image is oriented horizontally. Image 8b is virtually identical to image 7b. Image 7c shows both men looking toward the camera. The picture frame cuts off the man without glasses off at the knees. Image 8c shows the man in glasses looking toward the left side of the image and possibly speaking to someone. Image 9c shows the scene from a further away, making the man without glasses' lower legs visible. Image 10c shows a similar scene to the previous images, but the man in glasses is looking downward. The images in group "d" shows two men outside of a pickup truck. The truck has a sign on it which reads "WASHINGTON ROOFING CO., ALL TYPES OF ROOFING, LICENSED, BONDED, Phone 491-4183," and it is pulling an asphalt melter on wheels.
