Basketball, unknown date. These six black and white contact strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. Five of the strips carry five images each, and one strip carries four images. Also, these strips have had all of the edges cut off, so there are no physical numbers on the strips. For the purpose of this description, the strips will be assigned a sequence, and will be numbered based on that sequence. These images show a boys' basketball game and/or practice. Image 1 shows approximately twelve young men in gym/basketball attire sitting on a gymnasium floor and leaning with their backs against a wall created by retracted stands. A player with the jersey number 11 is seated away from the retracted stands and facing away from the camera. Image 2 shows the players again leaning up against the retracted stands, but now three coaches are standing near the players. Image 3 shows a similar scene to that of image 2, but the image was captured from much further away from the players and coaches. At the right of the image is someone standing with a piece of what appears to be some kind of electronic equipment hanging from a strap off their shoulder. Another person is crouched down in front of the person with the equipment hanging from his shoulder. Image 4 shows one coach and one player standing at the center of the image, many players standing to the right, and several players standing to the left. A player with jersey number 22 is at the right of the frame and facing away from the camera. Image 5 shows a player with jersey number 43 standing at the center of the frame and facing to the right toward someone who is partially outside of the frame and holding a basketball. Several other players are in the background, and their jersey numbers, from left to right, are 44, 23 and 24. Image 6 shows three players and one coach standing at center court. The coach is standing very close behind one of the players, and the player at right has a number 40 on his shorts. Images 7 shows four players standing and facing toward the right side of the image frame. The two players at the center of the four have the numbers 23 and 42 on their sweatpants. Image 8 shows a coach at center facing just to the right of the camera and gesturing with his left hand. From left to right, the players' numbers 22, 23 and 40 are visible. Image 9 shows the same coach at the center of the image and facing the right side of the image. He is pointing his left thumb at himself. The players' numbers 22 and 23 are visible. Image 10 shows one player sitting on the floro and facing toward the left side of the image. Two other players are standing nearby. Image 11 shows a player at the right of the image taking a shot. This player is very blurred, and appears to have the jersey number 40. There are six players watching the shot from the left. Image 12 shows five players on the court, four of them facing toward the left side of the image frame. The player at far right has the jersey number 23. Image 13 shows a player leaning forward and holding the ball with both hands. A player in a sweatshirt and sweatpants is guarding him. Image 14 shows several members standing on the court. The visible player numbers, from left to right, are 40, 23, and 42. Image 15 shows several players and a coach standing on the court. The coach is standing left of center of the image frame. The visible player numbers are 23, 42 and 40. Image 16 shows a very blurred image of what may be the basketball court floor. Image 17 shows several players going up for a rebound at the right side of the frame. A player with jersey number 35 is at the cneter of the image facing away from the camera. Image 18 shows several players watching the ball as it goes out of bounds. The player furthest to the right is diving toward the ball. Image 19 shows the player with jersey number 43 standing at center, facing toward the left, and holding his arms up in the air. Image 20 shows two players defending a shot being taken by a third player. Players with jersey numbers 42 and 43 are at the center of the image and facing away from the camera. Image 21 shows a coach at the center of the image facing toward the left. To the left and slightly behind the coach is a player with the number 43. Image 22 shows one player defending another. Between the camera and these two players are two other players, both facing away from the camera, with jersey numbers 23 and 35. Image 23 shows four players. Three of them are facing toward the left, and a player with the number 23 is facing away from the camera. Image 24 shows the coach with his arms folded and facing toward the left. Four players are standing near him and also facing toward the left. Image 25 shows a man in a plaid shirt holding a video camera on his shoulder. A second man is standing behind him and holding a piece of electronic equipment on a strap over his shouler. The camera is connected by a cord to this piece of equipment. Image 26 shows one player jumping up for a shot or a rebound while several other players stand nearby. The player on the left in fourground has the number 41 (or perhaps 40) on his sweatpants. Image 27 shows a player facing away from the camera and going up for a shot or a rebound. A player with the number 40 on his sweatpants is at the right of the image and is holding his right arm up in the air. Image 28 shows a player with the number 43 on his sweatshirt and sweatpants jumping up for a shot. The player with number 40 on his sweatpants is at the right of the frame. Image 29 shows approximately five players watching something happen outside of the frame to the right. Another player's leg is visible at the right of the frame. Image 30 is cut off, but appears to show a coach taping up a finger of a player with jersey number 24.Made/Created
