School-related photos, unknown date. These twenty black and white film negatives were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. This series of images was created using as many as nine separate film rolls, so many of the physical numbers on the strips are repeated several times. For the purposes of this description, these film negative strips will be grouped according to their original film roll and each group will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with their phyiscal number (ex: 17a, 17b, 17c, etc.) in order to differentiate between images that share the same physical number. The images in group "a" show individual elementary school students seated at desks in a classroom. Image 3a shows a young girl in a plaid and floral-print dress. Laying in front of her on her desk is a sign which reads "Alaina." She is looking toward the left of the image frame and smiling. Image 4a shows the same girl looking roughly downward and holding a pencil in her right hand. Image 5a shows a young boy with a watch on his wrist. He is looking roughly toward the left side of the frame. Image 6a shows the same young boy, but he is looking more toward the camera and appears to be writing something.
