Sons of Italy dinner, unknown date. These two black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. They show a person in a mascot-type costume with a very large top hat and saxophone performing as part of a Johnny Lewis musical performance. The mascot's face appears to be drawn on the person's bare torso. This person is performing in front of an audience. Image 21 shows the mascot facing toward the right with the audience behind them, This image is oriented horizontally. Image 22 shows the mascot facing more toward the camera than in the previous image, and this image in oriented vertically. Image 23 shows the mascot facing more toward the camera than in the previous image. Image 24 shows the mascot again facing toward the right, and the image is oriented vertically. Image 25 shows the mascot bending their knees and facing almost toward the camera. Image 26 shows the mascot facing toward the right, and the image is oriented vertically. Image 27 shows the mascot facing slightly less toward the right than in the previous image. Image 28 is similar to the previous image, but the mascot is bending their knees slightly. Image 29 shows a similar scene to that of the previous image, but the mascot is facing slightly more toward the camera. Image 30 shows the mascot bending their knees more. Image 31 shows te mascot standing very near the front of the stage. Image 32 shows a closer view of the mascot than any of the previous images.
Ken Balsley stated that Johnny Lewis would often get one or more audience members to get into the mascot-type suit described above during his performances.
Printed in alternation along one edge of each of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM."Made/Created
