Workers doing various jobs, Medic One, unknown date. These six black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show individuals performing a wide range of jobs, at least mostly for Medic One, a Thurston County emergency medical response system. Image 1 shows a man in a Washington State Patrol uniform sitting at a desk with a phone or radio headset on. He has a pen in his right hand. Various office machines and equipment are visible on the desk. Image 2 shows a similar scene, but the man is holding a telephone headset to his ear and leaning over the desk while writitng on a notepad. Image 3 shows the same state patrol officer typing on a computer. Image 4 shows a young firefighter standing outside of a fire truck and writing something on a notepad. Image 5 shows a man talking on the phone. Image 6 is very similar to image 5, but here a pen or pencil is visible in his right hand. Image 7 shows a man in a jacket sitting in the back of an ambulance with the back doors open. He is looking toward the camera and leaning on what is presumably a medical kit. Image 8 shows a smiliar scene, but the man is looking through the medical kit. Image 9 shows a similar scene to that of image 7, but the image is oriented vertically instead of horizontally. Image 10 shows a man underneath a fire truck with a tool kit nearby. The man is examining something in his hands. Image 11 shows a very similar scene, but the man is looking under the fire truck. Image 12 shows the front end of an ambulance through an open garage door. Image 15 shows two women, one with glasses and one without, examining a person on a medical table. Image 16 shows a closer view of the woman without glasses. Image 17 shows a closer view of the women with glasses. Image 18 shows a man in a uniform with an American flag patch on his shoulder seated at a desk and looking toward the camera. Image 19 shows the same man looking down at the desk and holding his left hand to his forehead. Image 20 shows the man looking down with both arms resting on the desk. Image 21 is virtually identical to image 20. Image 22 shows a woman working at a large control panel. She is writing on a notepad. Image 23 is virtually identical to image 22. Image 24 shows three women working at desks and/or control panels. Image 25 shows one woman working at a control panel. The top of a woman's head is visible in the background. Image 26 shows a different woman working at a desk with a phone handset to her ear. Image 27 is virtually identical to image 26. Image 28 shows yet another different woman working at a control panel. Imag 29 is virtually identical to image 28. Image 30 shows typing on a machine which says "TELETYPE on the front." Image 31 shows a similar scene to that of image 30, but the man is leaning back in his chair more. Image 32 shows a man in sunglasses sitting in a police car in front of St. Peter's Hospital. The image is oriented vertically, and the man is looking toward the camera. Image 33 a very similar scene to that of 32, but the man is looking down toward his lap. Image 33 is virtually identical to image 32. Image 34 shows a woman working at a desk. She appears to be turning the page on a notepad. Image 35 shows the same women, but here she is typing. Image 36 shows the same woman, but her hands are obscured by her computer monitor. Medic One was founded in 1974 to provide emergency medical assistance to all Thurston County residents. Printed at intervals along one edge of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM 5063."
