Description

Environment workshop, compass use, 1972. These two black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. Image 39 shows two women working in an office with a front counter. One of the women is standing behind the counter with several pieces of paper or cards in front of her, one of which she is writing on. Hanging on the wall behind her is an Olympia Glass Company calender which shows December 1972. Image 40 shows three young boys in raincoats standing ankle-deep in water in front of some trees and brush. Two of the boys are pointing and the third is holding a compass. The tallest boy is also holding one hand to his brow to block the sun. Image 41 is very similar to image 40, but the tallest boy is not holding a hand to his brow. Image 42 shows a large, warehouse-type structure on the edge of a lake or similar body of water. On the edge of the water next to the structure, or connected to it, it a long, covered walkway-type structure with open sides. Image 43 shows a body of water with trees in the background. At the water line are what appears to be a series of docks. Image 44 appears to show a very similar image to that of image 43, but half of the image is cut away. Printed in alternation along one edge of this film negative strip is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK PLUS X SAFETY FILM."
