Description

Unknown building, unknown date. These two black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. They show the construction of a building next to an existing building which has "Lacey Lanes" painted on the side. The building being constructed has a covered walkway extending out from it. Image 18 shows a man on top of the building being constructed. He is bending over at the waist and wearing a hardhat. Image 19 shows a very similar scene, but the man who was bent over in the previous image is standing with abag in one hand and what appears to be a tree branch in the other. A second man is standing on the roof of the covered walkway. Image 20 was taken from the covered walkway. The roof of the covered walkway is only partially complete, and the man standing on top of it is visible through the unfinished section. Image 21 is similar to image 20, but the photographer has moved out to the left of the covered walkway. A plaid shirt is visible hanging on top of a ladder leaned up against the roof of the walkway. Many two-by-fours are visible laying on the ground. Image 22 is similar to image 21, but the photographer has moved back several feet. One of the men working on the structure is walking into the main section of the building through the unfinished doorway. Image 23 is similar to image 22, but the photographer has again moved further away from the building. There is a man on the bottom portion of the ladder leaning up against the roof of the walkway. Image 24 shows two men on the roof of the walkway and one man on the roof of the main portion of the structure. Printed in alternation along one edge of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM.'
