Description

View of Mt. Rainier, unknown date. This single black and white oversized negative was created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. This image shows a view of Mt. Rainier in the far distance. In the foreground is a road which is parallel to the picture plane. Beyond the road are five people enjoying the view and three people walking by. Beyond these people is a large sports field, and beyond the field are many houses. This picture was probably taken from near the current St. Martin's monastery: in the middle left one can see a church with steeple that is probably Fabian Hall (the historic Sacred Heart church building). Printed along the left-hand edge of this oversized negative is "KODAK--SAFETY 469."

Context

This view picture provides, in the foreground, a snapshot of what the Lacey historical neighborhood looked like at the time.
