Jack Ayrist, 1979. These three black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a man (Jack Ayrist) in a tie posing in various spots in an office. Image 1 shows Mr. Ayrist sitting at a desk and writing something on a piece of paper that is resting on his right leg. Image 2 shows Mr. Ayrist seated at the desk with a pen in his right hand. He is looking at the camera. Image 3 is very similar to image 2, but Mr. Ayrist has his face tilted upward more than in the previous image. Image 4 shows Mr. Ayrist again seated at his desk. In the bottom left corner of the image a box with "FRAGILE" printed on it is visible. There is a person seated in a chair visible through a doorway at the right side of the image. Image 5 shows Mr. Ayrist seated at his desk, but the photographer has moved further away from him than in image 4, There is a calendar showing the page for March, 1979 above Mr, Ayrist's right shoulder. Image 6 is very similar to image 5, but here Mr. Ayrist is looking slightly more toward the right side of the image. Image 7 shows Mr. Ayrist seated on the edge of his desk, although the desk is not visible in this image. Above his left shoulder a map is visible hanging on the wall. His head is oriented slightly toward the left side of the iamge. Image 8 is very similar to image 7, but Mr. Ayrist is facing directly toward the camera. Image 9 again shows Mr. Ayrist seated on his desk, but here his body is turned toward the left-hand side of the image. He is facing the camera. Image 10 is virtually identical to image 9. Image 11 shows Mr. Ayrist still seated on his desk. His body is oriented toward the camera, and his head is tilted upward slightly. There are two maps hanging on the wall above his right shoulder. Image 12 is virtually identical to image 11. Image 42 shows Mr. Ayrist seated at his desk and speaking on the telephone and writing something down. He is facing toward the right side of the image. Image 43 is very similar to image 42, but Mr. Ayrist's face is oriented slightly more toward the camera. Image 44 shows Mr, Ayrist seated at his desk and looking toward the camera with his hands folded in his lap.
Printed at intervals along one edge of all of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM 5063."Made/Created
