Description

Dail Ashley, 1978. These three black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show three different women posing for photographs. Image 14 shows a portrait photo of a young woman wearing a shirt with a plaid collar. She is looking directly at the camera with a slight smile on her face. Image 15 is very similar to image 14, but the young woman is no longer smiling. Image 16 shows the young woman smiling and tilting her head slightly toward the right side of the image frame.. Image 17 shows the same young woman facing somewhat toward the left side of the image frame and shrugging her shoulders slightly. Image 18 again shows the young woman facing the left side of the image, but she is no longer shrugging and she is smiling. Image 19 shows a different young woman in a oinstriped jacket with a large smile on her face clasping her hands in front of her. She appears to be in an office. Image 38 shows an older woman wearing a sweater with a Santa Claus pin on the lapel. She is folding her arms in front of her and has a small smirk on her face. Image 39 shows the same woman smiling and reaching her right arm outside of the image frame. Image 40 shows the woman with her arms down with a large smile on her face. Image 41 shows the woman tilting her head slightly toward the right side of the image. Printed at intervals along one edge of each of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM 5063."
