Description

Boyd, unknown date. These three film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a woman (Kay Boyd) in a pants suit seated in a chair. Image 29 shows Ms. Boyd from the waist up with her arms out to her sides. Image 30 shows Ms. Boyd seated with her left arm resting on the arm of a chair and her hands folded together. Her head is tilted downward slightly. Image 31 is very similar to image 30, but the woman's head is tilted upward slightly. Images 30 and 31 are oriented vertically, and show the woman from the mid-shin up. Image 32 is similar to the previous two images, but it is oriented horizontally. Image is similar to image 30, but the woman's head is tilted toward her right. Image 34 shows the woman with her arms on either arm of the chair and looking toward the camera. Image 35 is similar to image 34, but the woman is looking toward the left side of the image frame. Image 36 is almost identical to image 34. Image 37 is similar to image 36, but Ms. Boyd is looking upward and to the left of the camera. Image 38 is nearly identical to image 37. Image 39 is nearly identical to image 30. Image 40 shows Ms. Boyd with her fingers laced together, but her palms apart. She is speaking. Image 41 is blank. Kay Boyd was the mayor of Lacey in the 1980s. During her time as mayor, Lacey built its new Timberland Library building and annexed the property that was known as Hawks Prairie. She died in November of 2010. Printed at intervals along one edge of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM 5063."
