Description

Teacher, unknown date. These three black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a woman in glasses and a floral print shirt teaching a class and a sign which reads "vote for kids April 14." Image 6 shows the teacher holding a workbook in her left hand and a marker or large piece of chalk in her right hand. The marker or chalk is pointed toward the two students who are partially visible in the foreground. The workbook is being held so its spine is pointed upward. Image 7 shows a similar scene to that of the previous image, but here the workbook's spine is pointing toward the right side of the image frame. Image 8 shows the teacher seated on a desk while she speaks to the students. One student is visible in the foreground facing away from the camera. Image 9 shows a similar scene to that of image 8, but the photographer has backed up or zoomed out making two students visible in the foreground. Image 10 shows the teacher still sitting on the desk and looking down at a workbook on the desk as she turns a page. Two students are visible in the foreground, with the student on the left side of the image fram being very near the camera. Image 11 is very similar to image 10, but the teacher is not turning a page in the workbook. Image 12 again shows the teacher seated on the desk, but from an angle to the right of the previous images. The teacher's legs are visible hanging off the edge of the desk she is sitting on. Image 13 is similar to images 9 and 10, but is captured from a high perspective. Image 23 shows a sign which reads "vote for kids April 14." Images 24-28 are virtually identical to image 23. Visible in the background of these images showing the sign is a sign which reads "Lacey Leader," showing that these images were captured in the lawn outside of the Lacey Leader offices. Printed at intervals along one edge of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM 5063."
