Description

Blazer basketball, 1977. These three black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a men's high school basketball game between the Timberline Blazers and the Olympia Bears. The game was played on Timberline's basketball court. Image 11 shows number 10 for the Blazers in air having just released a jump shot. The scoreboard visible in the background shows the score to be 17 to 6. Image 12 shows number 40 for the Blazers going up for a jump shot. His left hand is outside the top edge of the image frame. Image 13 shows number 22 for the Blazers having just taken a jump shot. Number 24 for the Blazers is at the bottom left corner of the image. Image 14 shows number 32 for Olympia having just taken a jump shot and number 24 for Timberline trying to block it. Number 40 for Olympia is at the right-hand edge of the image. Image 15 shows several players scuffling under the hoop. Players with jersey numbers 40, 32 and 20 are facing away fromt he camera. Image 16 shows number 32 for Timberline about to take a jump shot and number 10 for Olympia reaching out to block the shot. Image 17 shows two rows of cheerleaders in plaid uniforms doing kicks. Image 18 shows number 10 for Timberline with possession of the ball and facing toward the camera. Number 10 for Olympia is immediately to the right, and also facing toward the camera. Image 19 shows number 30 for Timberline about to release a jump shot while number 32 for Olympia is jumping up to defend. Image 20 shows number 22 for Timberline jumping and extending his right hand out of the top of the image frame. Image 21 shows number 30 for the Blazers up in the air, presumably having just released a jump shot. Image 22 shows number 24 for the Blazers about to take a jump shot while facing toward the camera. Number 32 for Olympia is at the right-hand edge of the image frame. Image 23 shows number 24 for the Blazers facing toward the left-hand side of the image frame and about to release a jump shot. Image 24 shows players from both teams scrambling for a rebound. Number 30 for the Blazers is at the center of the image. Image 25 shows a blurry shot of the ball just above the hoop and number 34 for Timberline up in the air. Printed at intervals along one edge of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM 5063."
